After a surprisingly good night's sleep in a thermal sleeping bag laden with 2 supremely thick and heavy wool blankets (I could hardly move), we woke up to urgent knocks on the door and "Guys, wake up and see the sunrise!" (our fearless leader). I didn't want to get out of the warm cocoon. It was freezing cold and my shoes felt like they were frozen. By the time I got out of the tent, I missed the sunrise. This was what I'd caught. Again, the Mount Everest in full clarity.
After a hearty hot breakfast, we set off for Old Tinggri (remember there was a New Tinggri?). Shots of the landscape along the way.
We were driving along this gravel road...no safety barriers whatsoever...Local transportation.
Our transportation.
We arrived in Old Tinggri.
Unloading our stuff.
After lunch (& happy to be out of the cold), we went for a "city tour". This would have taken us 6 min. But of course, we kept ourselves entertained for much longer.
There was a celebration of some sort in the field close to our hotel.
Isn't it nice to wake up to this?
So our self-conducted "city tour" took us out of the one-street town, past some construction and into the open mountains. We saw these pretty colorful blooms on the dry ground. As you can guess, they weren't difficult to spot in the bare land.
