It was a lovely day for cycling. We left Shitgatse and headed for Lhatse. The theme of the day was headwinds though. I felt like the strong winds were blowing me sideways at times. All I could do was put my head down and pedal. Our lead cyclist (who's a national cyclist) said that cycling against headwinds could be tougher than climbing slopes. *gulp* I got a taste of that. (And more later.)Thank goodness for the sun, or else I would've felt even colder.
This is a pic of our drivers sunning themselves. They must have gotten bored waiting for us. Actually that probably happened quite often. They're a fun bunch, who'd cheer us on when we start cycling and welcome us when we got to the destination.
The long ride ahead - perfect for contemplation and introspection.
Blue sky!
Lunch stop.
Solar panels.
Our high pass that day was at 4,520m. Prayer flags at the high pass.
Farm that we saw along the way. Headgear for the yak.
My fellow cyclists riding into town (Lhatse).
