This is the Palau de les Arts by Santiago Calatrava, a Valencian architect. It is an opera house, but also a performing arts center. Madame Butterfly was being staged when I was there. The whole area forms the City of Arts and Sciences, designed by Calatrava.
Calatrava's L'Hermisferic, also part of his City of Arts and Sciences project. It houses a planetarium & an IMAX theatre (that's why it looks like an eye).

I just like this pic 'cos of its composition - all the shapes & colors. So dynamic.
